Sitti is wonderful all the way around, from the warm greeting we received, the decor, lighting and menu design to the service and the FOOD! - all top notch. I have to admit, I have a fairly limited palate. So while everyone else at the table got something that was both adventurous and delicious, my kabob was straight-forward and out of this world. Top-notch. I’m not exaggerating when I say we can all be more proud of downtown because of a destination of this caliber.
Had my first experience at Sitti last night and it was fantastic. The wait staff helped us through a great selection of beer. We wanted to try as many things as possible so we stuck to the “small plates” which were all delicious and well priced. The hummus was fantastic, and the beef/lamb dumplings were incredible! I also highly recommend the cheese rolls. The only regret I had was not making it to dessert, but that will come on the next visit.
As far as the space goes, the interior was fantastic. Couple of cool things I picked up about the decor….1st, the bar is a 30’s era piece, purchased and reconditioned from a bar in Chicago. Also, the giant table in the middle of the restaurant is made of Lebanese Wood (not exactly sure what that means, but is a cool looking table, and thats a nice touch.) Even more amazing is the base of that table, which once rested in the Library of Congress. As for the pictures of the grandmothers that have been the cause of so much ire on here, they are tastefully done, fit the theme perfectly, and aren’t self aggrandizing in the least!
Can’t wait to head back to this place for drinks, more food, and dessert! If you get a chance while heading to the bathroom, sneak down the hallway to the left and check out the outdoor area out back. Going to be a great place to have an outdoor beer in the springtime. Reminded me of some of my favorite Beer Gardens in St. Louis!
