Straight up North Carolina breakfast and lunch for a low price.
I must disagree with the previous review ... this restaurant is good for what they promote which is home cooking. Their fried chicken, mashed potatoes, biscuits, okra, etc. are very good. So far, the desserts have not been good, i.e. peach cobbler. But for vegetables, biscuits, and Southern cooking, it is good for the price.
After friends had raved about this place, my partner and I decided to stop in a few times after picking up some veggies. We really wanted to love it, but frankly, it just wasn’t good. Last time we went there was an entree and dessert special I was excited to see. Unfortunately, with all the delicious produce mere feet away, this restaurant served us canned green beans and peaches. The cobbler was pretty gross. And the ribs were all fat. I won’t be returning.
