Waraji might have been my top choice many years ago when there were not that many sushi choices in Raleigh, but now there are much better places to. Try Haru Sushi on Glenwood avenue or even the new Tasu Asian Bistro in Brier Creek (the same people who run ShikiSushi in Durham). Sono in Raleigh is another great choice. Don’t suffer the long wait for sushi at Waraji anymore when there are so many other better choices!
I’ve been to Waraji a handful of times, most recently Friday night. While I’ve been to Sushi Blues a number of times more, Waraji is still the more special space to get the fresher sushi in the Triangle.
(And can we please change “ya’ll said” to “y’all said”)
While I haven’t been to every sushi restaurant in Raleigh, I’ve been to several, and Waraji is by far my favorite. The food is always fresh and wonderful. Whereas at some other local sushi places you will pay a premium on lackster food just so you can dine in some kind of trendy atmosphere, Waraji delivers quality food at a good value.
