The downtown Raleigh restaurant will be featured soon in Bon Appetit magazine and today at noon, there will be a discussion about Poole’s Diner on WUNC’s program The State of Things.

Today there were lots of workers outside of Yancy’s looking for their paychecks today, but a handwritten note on the door stated, Yancy’s is closed. As predicted speculated in a recent article, Yancy’s has officially closed for good. More below the fold.

After scoring a health rating of 60.5 almost a year ago, Gumby’s Pizza has moved upstream to a new location (formerly Papa John’s Pizza) and looks to reopen soon on Hillsborough Street.

When it comes to upscale Mexican food in the Triangle, there are few restaurants that can compete with Jibarra in North Raleigh. Today, the owner Joel Ibarra announced that they will be packing up their suburban bags and relocating to Downtown Raleigh to occupy a space in the historic Depot building. Urbanites rejoice!
