The Pit has a beer selection as varied and premium as it BBQ. While steadily busy, you can often catch a quiet afternoon meal for a relaxing, southern BBQ experience. The atmosphere and service also live up to the quality of the food, weather you are old south or a carpetbagger, the Pit should provide the upscale southern comfort food you are looking for.
Everything is drenched in heavy sauces and the prices are very high. There are plenty of sushi places around that offer better quality fish and serve it in more authentic forms while preserving the flavors of their ingredients.
Sylvia’s is a great Pizza place. Surly Italian service and blasting TV doesn’t take away from the fact that this Pizza is fresher and tastier than I love NY Pizza. Amores and Sylvia’s are definitely the places to go near NCSU.
Dark and bohemian, Dos Taquitos is not what you would expect, neither from its Mexican Restaurant Banner or its strip-mall location. The food is delicious albeit a bit pricey. Outdoor seating is good considering the location and the staff is friendly enough. The Margaritas could be considered overpriced- watch out before you get too exuberant ordering them.
Excellent baked goods and sandwiches. The pasteries are little masterpieces. But don’t expect to get coffee shop service in the morning- these guys will make you wait, and wait, and wait some more….
I just love Soloman’s. The Greek salad with grilled salmon is my favorite dish.
Tapas and good wine are two of my favorites. Humble Pie has lots of both. The service here is professional and knowledgeable. The open kitchen is cool. There is also a nice closed room if you want a private place with a group.
Side Streets quaint furniture and doily table clothes will take you to a time more simple than today. The food is simple, crafted and delicious.
Hayes Barton is a drug-store diner cum restaurant. Sandwiches in the day and good steaks and rich desserts at night.
A very decent lunch. Chargrill is old school and delicious. I just try to forget that its bad for you.
Abyssinia is killer- you get a nice variety and an authentic Ethiopian experience. I recommend a combo platter- but going all veggie is great too. Keep in mind you share a main platter so if you don’t like that kind of thing you might try somewhere else.
Delicious albeit expensive. Royal India offers one of the most authentic experiences in Raleigh. There is a rich selection of meat and vegetarian dishes with a nice set of complimentary chutneys and mango pickle. I throughly enjoyed the meal but found the price off putting compared to the quality of the food.
