Nice atmosphere and staff here. I like how people can bring their dogs when they eat outside. The beer list is definitely extensive. Sadly, the food just isn’t very good. I’ve gone here many times because I want to like it, but it’s just not good.
The food was good, and the sides were fresh. You feel kinda badass eating here, because only someone who is looking for it can find it! The atmosphere is really nice.
My favorite place to eat in Raleigh. Carefully thought out food, prepared well, and *awesome* drink options (like the limoncello or sangria). I love the industrial atmosphere and staff as well. Yes, the menu has fewer options than most places, but that’s how nice restaurants tend to operate. Everything I’ve ever had here has been wildly delicious. My boyfriend thinks they have the best burger in Raleigh.
I love the concept, but this place just doesn’t deliver. The cupcakes were definitely dry, which is kinda ridiculous when that’s all you bake. The frosting is good, but there’s almost too much of it.
The food is ok. The owner is fantastic. I’d suggest the pasta dishes over the pizza. I also like the eggplant parm sub.
After friends had raved about this place, my partner and I decided to stop in a few times after picking up some veggies. We really wanted to love it, but frankly, it just wasn’t good. Last time we went there was an entree and dessert special I was excited to see. Unfortunately, with all the delicious produce mere feet away, this restaurant served us canned green beans and peaches. The cobbler was pretty gross. And the ribs were all fat. I won’t be returning.
The food is surprisingly delicious here. You can write on the bathroom walls with chalk, which is fun. No liquor though… hugely disappointing.
Pizza isn’t bad, and you can sometimes find a nice drink special here. This place is best when the weather is nice enough to sit on the patio; it gets very smokey inside.
Great coffee, and the owner is one of the nicest people I think I’ve ever met. The shop itself is small but very cozy. I love it!
Mixed bag here… sometimes the food is great, and I love the sangria, but I have a friend who received uncooked pork loin. The service is hit or miss. Generally, I’d say this location is overrated.
Smoky, dirty, and just plain gross.
Lots of options here. The food is pretty good, although I’m always overwhelmed when deciding what to order!
A nicely decorated dance club.
Holy huge portions! Lots of options, nice atmosphere. Yes, the bathrooms are icky.
The food here is pretty forgettable. Prices aren’t so great. I like the veggie chili, though.
Love this place! $2 for something totally unique! Don’t play it safe—try something that sounds gross, and odds are you’ll love it.
Best in the city. The fresh ingredients make a huge difference. Try the bruschetta!
I’ll agree with the previous reviewer—NC State cuisine is downright terrible. The upside of this place is that it’s a healthIER option near campus and the service is fantastic.
The modern decor is a little cold and uncomfortable here, but the grilled cheese with tomato is bangin.
Well… the portions are large.
Super nice workers. Mike, the owner, is fantastic. The food is great and so are the lattes. This shop is very comfortable to work in… I’ve spent hours there.
I’ll second the other reviewer who recommended the french toast.
I probably won’t be back here anytime soon, though—last time I went, I was served undercooked pancakes (?!), the server forgot my side, and my fork had food stuck to it. Every other time I’ve been there I had to wait and wait for a table. Blah!
I like the artwork, coffee and outdoor patio here.
I like the atmosphere and coffee at CAJ. The food is so-so. The employees are wildly nice! My biggest complaint with this location is the rancid smoking room. Frankly, the smoke is so bad that I’ll go out of my way to the Avent Ferry location to avoid it.
I’ve gone to Cafe Carolina several times, and each time it has been disappointing and overpriced. If you want a nice lunch in Cameron Village, try the Village Deli instead.
