Basic pub food, but pretty good for what it is.  The location, the beer list, and big TV’s for watching a game are what make this restaurant special.

Tried two different tacos.  First, I had the duck confit with asiago cheese & pineapple; it sounded intriguing but didn’t quite work.  The pineapple chunks were just too sweet a contrast to the duck.  The lime marinated veggie taco was really wonderful, but the portion was tiny.  Don’t they know that veggies don’t stay with you very long?

Even though I was a little disappointed in the tacos, I loved the atmosphere and thought the salsa was delicious.  It seemed to have lime juice in it, which added some zing.

As an aside, our waiter seemed inexperienced—took the fork with my main plate, not leaving me a utensil to eat the remaining side dish.  He never noticed, and I didn’t like the side dish.  So I guess it worked out.

I have to say that I was excited to try this new restaurant and was very disappointed.  The gnocchi was perfect in the sense of being tender inside and crunchy on the outside, but the pesto sauce was pretty much all olive oil with only a few floating basil leaves and a token pine nut or too.  I’m not someone who is normally bothered by greasy dishes, but I couldn’t finish this one even though hungry.  I agree with the previous posts that the wait staff knows very little (if anything) about their wine menu.  I ordered a pinot grigio to play it safe because when have you ever had a bad pinot?  Well, this was as dull as a Gallo.  I couldn’t finish that either.  I like the atmosphere, but I don’t think it’s worth going just for that.
