Had my first experience at Sitti last night and it was fantastic.  The wait staff helped us through a great selection of beer.  We wanted to try as many things as possible so we stuck to the “small plates” which were all delicious and well priced.  The hummus was fantastic, and the beef/lamb dumplings were incredible!  I also highly recommend the cheese rolls.  The only regret I had was not making it to dessert, but that will come on the next visit.

As far as the space goes, the interior was fantastic.  Couple of cool things I picked up about the decor….1st, the bar is a 30’s era piece, purchased and reconditioned from a bar in Chicago.  Also, the giant table in the middle of the restaurant is made of Lebanese Wood (not exactly sure what that means, but is a cool looking table, and thats a nice touch.)  Even more amazing is the base of that table, which once rested in the Library of Congress.  As for the pictures of the grandmothers that have been the cause of so much ire on here, they are tastefully done, fit the theme perfectly, and aren’t self aggrandizing in the least!

Can’t wait to head back to this place for drinks, more food, and dessert!  If you get a chance while heading to the bathroom, sneak down the hallway to the left and check out the outdoor area out back.  Going to be a great place to have an outdoor beer in the springtime.  Reminded me of some of my favorite Beer Gardens in St. Louis!

This place is INCREDIBLE!  Roasted Dogs, Glass bottled cokes, and 2 dessert choices (backlava/pound cake).  Doesn’t get much better than that!

Toppings are limited, (chili, mustard, onions, slaw, and texas pete on the bar) but the chili is great, and goes well with some mustard and the roasted flavor of the hot dog.

If you have some time, and you’re jonzing for a good hotdog, stop by and saddle up at the bar…shoulder to shoulder with a new best friend, and pound on a delicious hotdog.  I recommend 3….and some pound cake!  In the immortal words of The Notorious B.I.G. “if you don’t know, now you know!”

Two Words….“Steak Tacos”  They are far and away the best item on their menu.  (Tacos de bistec)  Atmosphere is standard fare, but the food is pretty good and cheap.  Good beer specials, and decent queso.

If you want to eat a couple baskets of chips and salsa, have a decent meal and keep it around $10, this would be the place!

Peace China is great for what it is.  Fast Food Chinese.  No, its not “gourmet” but despite a brief ad campaign, I don’t get the feeling that they are holding themselves out to be that.  Its fast, and fresh, or relatively fresh.  Its nice to look down the large line of wok’s and watch the crew fix your dish to order.  Thats something that can’t always be said at these type of restaurants.

My only advice is to stay away from the Thai dishes, unless I just had a bad day with the pad thai.  It was just OK, not the best.  As far as dishes I have tried, the noodle dishes and fried rice are great, soups are good, and the Crab Rangoon is excellent.

I am still an avid Red Dragon fan, but this is just different.  As a friend once said, I am sometimes just in the mood for that fast food chinese “taste” and that is exactly what you get at Peace China, with a bit of added freshness, and a clean eating area.

4 stars for what it is.  Good/Quick Chinese food!!!
