Eating organic is not just for hippies, or yuppies for that matter, and it isn’t just “fancy” food, either. It’s for YOU. It’s french fries, hamburgers and apple juice just as much as it’s arugula and tofu, and it’s really important for your health, for your babies - be they actual or potential - for our environment, and for our economy. I’m serious! In this week’s Toxic Free NC Tip, I bring you some of the whys and hows of eating organic on the cheap.

Moore Square Already City’s Living Room

The City of Raleigh has released, to great fanfare, plans for a competition to redesign Moore Square.  As good an idea as this might be in good economic times, with the city booming and development flourishing downtown, the current municipal context doesn’t seem to bode well for such an ambitious project.  Unfortunately, the plan shifts conversation (and energy) away from the serious dialogue that needs to happen about continuing to develop Downtown Raleigh efficiently for everyone.
