The Red Bull Air Force base jumpers were supposed to bust Raleigh Wide Open with a leap off of RBC tower. But Hurricane Hanna canceled those plans, so Thursday at 3pm we get to see Charles Bryan show his skills. While the jump is relatively short by comparison to some of the teams other events, it will be an exciting stunt, to build publicity for the relative shortness of our tallest tower. The picture to the left shows a member of team Red Bull jumping off similarly sized building in Sarajevo.
After a wet start, the forecast for the rest of the weekend is sunny and Raleigh Wide Open 3 is in full effect. Last night’s wet performances were better attended than expected considering the downpour. Raleigh’s own Annuals closed the night as the rain stopped early in their set. Today is going to be dry and tonight you can catch Soul Asylum, Islands, Urban Sophisticates and Lou Gramm. Other events today include the International Festival, the carnival, a screening of Transformers in Moore Square, and the Parade. Check out the big map and guide for times and locations. We will see you downtown!
