Preservation NC Presents the 4th Annual Taste of Downtown Raleigh

Come out and support Preservation North Carolina’s efforts to preserve historic downtown Raleigh properties! The Taste of Downtown Raleigh takes places on Tuesday, May 19 from 5:30pm - 7:30pm and includes a reception and tour of several newly-renovated properties on Fayetteville Street. Participating restaurants will offer “buy one, get one free” entrées immediately thereafter. Highlights of the tour include the Carolina Trust Building, the Mahler Building, Briggs Hardware Building, and Foundation bar. Tickets required. Learn more below the fold…

We are hearing from several sources that two of downtown’s nicest restaurants are both at risk of closing.  After Riviera’s abrupt end early last week, it is sad to hear that two others may be in trouble.

The song starts:  Cash, Rules, Everything, Around, Me, C.R.E.A.M. get the money dollar, dollar bill y’all.  From my understanding, rappers Raekwon and Method Man from The Wu Tang Clan weren’t referring to Raleigh in the y’all part of that lyric.  But, looking at the names of a few new restaurants and bars in downtown, you’d assume that cash did rule everything around here.
