Revolution, the 2nd album by The Loners, will be released this Friday, March 6th, at Tir Na Nog. It’s been quite a ride since 2001, when The Loners released their first record. Revolution is a product of tumultuous times and the rebirth that can come from it. The Dirty Little Heaters and Pinche Gringo are solid support, to say the least. Trent Bowles is MCing this event, and he’s hilarious. Its win-win-win all the way. The Loners are ready to throw down and celebrate their vinyl and digital download release. Mark this on your “to do” list for First Friday. Jump in for flier and album review.
Aviator Brewing Company owner Mark Doble learned his craft while playing around - as he puts it - on his family’s equipment at the Tampa Bay Brewing Company in Ybor City, Florida. During the hour or so I spent at the brewery last week, Doble played mostly nonchalant about the awesomeness of his establishment. More below the fold.

This past weekend, Obama volunteers across the state exceed their goal of knocking on 100,000 doors, managing to hit 107,703 doors. At the end of our conversation with Mike Robinson from Annuals in January, he mentioned an upcoming show that was being staged in the Raleigh area between them and their alter-ego Sedona. Sedona has changed their name to Sunfold and plan to release their first album in six years, a split between them and Annuals, who capped off WKNC’s Double Barrel Benefit in grand fashion. Lonnie Walker and I Was Totally Destroying It are also on the bill. The show is Friday at The Brewery and will definitely sell out so get there early, it should be a rocking night. Tonight, Paleface plays Tir Na Nog which should be a great show, especially since it is free!
